Plymouth, PA; Grant's Martial Arts, Inc. is looking for fighters and fight fans!  Grant's Martial Arts has been training full contact fighters in Kickboxing, boxing and Muay Thai for the past 4 years and promoting fight cards that showcase each of those disciplines.  They have recently added ground fighting to their programs and plan to promote Mixed Martial Arts shows beginning in 2008!

 

"Events like the UFC are exploding all over the world, we think it is time to bring it to PA" Grant said. "Our program here at Grant's Martial Arts was primarily kids up until 2 years ago.  I was training one of my karate black belts, Jamie Trusa in kick boxing on the side.  I have always loved the competitive combat aspects of martial arts and so did Trusa.  Once we started taking him to kickboxing club shows and he started winning, we added the kickboxing classes to our curriculum.  Since then we have morphed the curriculum to a combination of kickboxing, ground fighting and street self-defense.  We have cut out all the artistic classical stuff and focused on reality!  This change has more or less double ours school's enrollment since we now have as many teens and adults training as we do children under age 12."

 

What's the next logical step? Start promoting shows.  That is just what Grant's did beginning on September 16, 2006. "The shows have been huge success.  Our average audience is over 400," Grant said!  That's not all; Grant's is expecting to double that when they add MMA in 2008.  Why wait to 2008, well the State athletic commission has not yet finished drafting the rules, but when they do, Grant's will be ready to field a team and host two to four events in 2008!  Will you be ready to compete?

 

Grant's has 2 shows left in 2007 one on September 8th and one on December 8th in Plymouth.  Both shows will feature American Rules Kickboxing, International leg kick matchers and Muay Thai.  Tickets are $35 for Balcony VIP, $25 for ring side and $20 general admission.  Shows start at 6pm and doors open at 5pm.
